2. What Data We Collect
2.1 Doozy Hug Free Trial (Netherlands)
For participants in the Doozy Hug free home trial, we collect the following personal data:
- Baby's age and weight — for safety and eligibility purposes
- Baseline information — baby's routine, temperament, current soothing methods, and parent's expectations, collected during an introduction call (if chosen guided format)
- Observational notes — baby's emotional state, behaviour, breathing observations, and comfort during the trial, recorded by the Doozy team member present or the parent themselves
- Parent wellbeing notes — observations on the parent's experience and wellbeing during the trial
- Questionnaire and feedback responses — completed at the end of your trial
- Check-in call notes — observations and discussion notes from calls during the trial window (guided format only)
- Photos and/or videos — taken during the trial only if you have given explicit written consent in the Informed Consent Form
- Name and contact details — email address, phone number, and home address for delivery coordination
2.2 Doozy App MVP Trial (United States)
For participants in the Doozy App MVP trial, we collect the following data:

- General demographic information — parenting status and child's age range
- Session data — researcher notes taken during the remote session, including observations of how you interact with the prototype
- Feedback responses — questionnaire and interview responses
- App interaction data — how you navigate and use the prototype during the session
- Screen recordings — only if you have given explicit consent during the session. You may decline and still participate.
- Audio recordings — only if you have given explicit consent during the session. You may decline and still participate.
The Doozy App MVP is a prototype only. No personal baby data can be entered or is collected within the prototype itself.
2.3 Doozy App Beta Trial (Netherlands, United States & United Kingdom)
By downloading the Doozy App and creating an account, you are asked to confirm your agreement to these Terms & Conditions and this Privacy Policy via a checkbox at account creation. If you are not comfortable with how your data is collected and used as described here, please do not proceed with creating an account.
During the beta trial, we collect the following data:
- Parent profile — name and age
- Baby profile — name, age, weight, height, and head circumference
- Baby medical information — optional. Under "About Your Baby", you may choose to share relevant medical information such as allergies or health conditions. This information is used solely to inform our AI parenting companion so it can provide more relevant and personalised guidance. For example, if your baby has a peanut allergy, the AI companion will avoid suggesting peanut-based foods. This field is entirely optional — you are not required to provide any medical information.
- Activity logs — sleep, feeding, diaper changes, and moment entries entered by you
- App usage data — collected automatically via Firebase Analytics, including screen visits, feature interactions, and session duration
- AI companion conversation history — messages exchanged with the Doozy AI parenting companion are saved within the app so you can refer back to previous interactions
- Feedback responses — questionnaire completed at the end of the beta period

This information is used solely to respond to your request, coordinate your trial, or keep you updated on Doozy Baby news and launches. We do not use it for any other purpose without your consent.
3. Why We Collect It & Legal Basis
3.1 Doozy Hug Free Trial — GDPR (Netherlands)
We collect your data for the following purposes:
- To coordinate and deliver your free home trial
- To evaluate the Doozy Hug's performance, comfort, and usability in real-life conditions
- To identify improvements to the product's design and functionality
- To administer your Early Kangaroo Deal discount and Baby Sensory trial class voucher
- To use anonymised findings for product development, internal analysis, and industry publications
We process your personal data on the following legal bases under GDPR:
- Consent — for participation in the trial, photos, videos, and observational data. You provided this consent via the Informed Consent Form signed before the trial began.
- Legitimate interest — for product research and development purposes, where our interest in improving the Doozy Hug does not override your rights and freedoms.
Please note that data collection may vary slightly depending on your chosen trial format. Participants in the guided format will have additional check-in call notes collected during the trial window. Participants in the self-guided format will self-document their experience via a structured questionnaire.
Voluntary participation: Your participation in this trial is entirely voluntary. You may withdraw from the trial at any time, without giving a reason and without any consequences. If you wish to withdraw your consent to data processing, please contact hello@doozybaby.nl. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
All participant data is treated as strictly confidential by Doozy B.V. and is accessible only to authorised team members. Your identity and your baby's identity will not be publicly disclosed without your additional explicit consent.

3.4 Website Visitors & Forms

For waitlist sign-ups, we process your data on the basis of legitimate interest to keep you informed of our product launch.
4. How We Protect Your Data
All personal data is stored securely and access is limited to authorised Doozy B.V. team members only. We do not sell your personal data to third parties under any circumstances. Your identity and your baby's identity will remain anonymous in all external reports, publications, and presentations, unless you have given explicit written consent for your name or images to be shared publicly.
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse.
In the event of a data breach that is likely to result in a risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify you and the relevant supervisory authority within 72 hours, as required under GDPR.
5. Data Retention
5.1 Doozy Hug Free Trial (Netherlands)
We retain your personal data for a maximum of 2 years from the date of your trial participation, unless you request earlier deletion. Anonymised research data — from which you cannot be identified — may be retained for longer for product development purposes.
Please note that requesting early deletion of your data may affect your eligibility for early adopter benefits such as the Early Kangaroo Deal and Baby Sensory trial class voucher.
5.2 Doozy App MVP Trial (United States)
We retain your personal data for a maximum of 1 year after the commercial launch of the Doozy App (August/September 2026), unless you request earlier deletion. Anonymised research findings may be retained for longer for product development and internal analysis.
5.3 Doozy App Beta Trial (Netherlands, USA & UK)
We retain your account and activity data for a maximum of 2 years after the commercial launch of the Doozy App, unless you request earlier deletion or delete your account. Firebase Analytics data is retained in accordance with Google's standard retention policies.
You may request deletion of your baby's optional medical information at any time without deleting your full account, by contacting hello@doozybaby.nl or updating your profile in the app.
Conversation history with the AI parenting companion is stored within the app for the duration of your account. Upon account deletion or data withdrawal request, all conversation history will be deleted within 30 days.
*We will update this section with specific Firebase Analytics retention settings before our commercial launch.
6. Third Party Services
Firebase Analytics (Google)
The Doozy App beta uses Firebase Analytics, a service provided by Google LLC. Firebase Analytics automatically collects app usage data including screen visits, feature interactions, and session duration. This data is processed by Google and may be transferred outside the European Economic Area (EEA).
A Data Processing Agreement (DPA) is in place with Google as required under GDPR. For more information on how Google processes data, see: policies.google.com/privacy AI
Parenting Companion (Anthropic)
The Doozy App's AI parenting companion is powered by Anthropic's API, provided by Anthropic PBC. The AI parenting companion is an automated system, it is not a human. When you interact with it, the text of your conversation is sent to Anthropic's servers to generate a response. Please be mindful that any personal information you include in your messages — such as your baby's name, age, or health details — will be processed by Anthropic as part of generating a response. We recommend avoiding sharing unnecessarily sensitive information in the chat. Anthropic does not use API conversation data to train its models. A Data Processing Agreement (DPA) is in place with Anthropic as required under GDPR. For more information on how Anthropic processes data, see: anthropic.com/privacy
*We will update this section with all specific third-party processors and confirm chat history access permissions before our commercial launch.

Withdrawal from trial vs. withdrawal of consent
These are two separate rights.
